Engr. Md. Shahidul Islam

Cheif Executive Officer

Engr. Md. Shahidul Islam is a highly accomplished professional with multidisciplinary academic qualifications and vast technical expertise in GIS, climate change, electrical engineering, solar energy, and geospatial technologies. With over 30 years of experience across Bangladesh, China, India, and Singapore, he has served in leadership and technical roles, most notably as CEO of Global Sources BD. His work spans UAV-based surveys, GNSS and aerial mapping, cadastral data management, climate adaptation systems, and renewable energy project implementation. He has also contributed significantly to government and military-backed infrastructure and environmental projects, demonstrating exceptional capabilities in both field-level and strategic planning capacities.

He achieved degree in B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from DUET in 1994, M.Sc. Engineering in Climate Change from DUET in 2015, MBA Finance from AUST in 2016, M.Sc. in GIS & Environment from Jahangirnagar University in 2019. He achieved the training certificates on “GIS and Climate Change from DUET, Gazipur”, “ArcGIS Pro from ESRI Singapore”, “ERDAS Imagine & Ecognition from Jahangir Nagar University”, “Cartography from ESRI Singapore”, “Underground Water Modeling from TGIS, India”, “Remote Sensing with MatLab, TGIS, India”.

Personally, he is working as an expert with Bangladesh Army & Cox’s Bazar Development Authority for COX’S BAZAR MASTER PLAN PREPARATION, with Bangladesh Army for Border Road project and DNCC 29 Khal project, Padma Bridge Rail Link project, Jalshiri Abashan Project in the core filed of Geodesy, Cadastral Survey, UAV Mapping & Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing etc. from 2015. He is life Fellow of Institution of Engineers Bangladesh, FIEB-10399.

Dr. Md. Showkat Osman

Md. Showkat Osman is a Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering, Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, Bangladesh. He is a Selection Grade Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering and the most senior Professor (Seniority Position- 01) of this university. Currently, he is serving as a Director of the Planning and Development Office. Previously he served as various key academic and administrative roles like Dean, faculty of civil engineering; Head, department of civil engineering; Head, department of textile engineering; Director of Students' Welfare (DSW); Director, Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Research. He is expert in Environment & Climate Change. He worked National renowned project of Rampal Power Plant, Ghorashal Power Plant and many DESCO, DPDC, PDB, Water Board, Forestry, BIWTA, Border Road project for EIA as Team Leader.

Dr. Md Shahedur Rashid

Being selection grade professor (Grade 1, according to Bangladesh 8th National Pay scale adopted in 2015) in the Department of Geography and Environment of Jahangirnagar University, Dr. Md Shahedur Rashid, is a GIS (Geographical Information Systems) and Remote Sensing specialist, having extensive teaching and field experience; and advanced computing and research skills. He is highly conversant in the use of most of the GIS and IAS (Image Analysis System) software and literature. He has already published more than 150 international and national research/GIS works in his field of expertise.

Dr. Khandakar Hasan Mahmud

Professor Dr. Khandakar Hasan Mahmud (Department of Geography and Environment, Jahangirnagar University). Dr. Mahmud started his career as a GIS and Remote Sensing Analyst. For his research contribution he was awarded by the Ministry of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), Federal Government of Canada from Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II in Right of Canada.

Dr. Bibi Hafsa

Dr. Bibi Hafsa (Associate Professor, Department of Geography and Environment, Jahangirnagar University). Dr. Hafsa was co-editor in publishing ‘Ogny Geographic Atlas’ using the latest GIS and Cartographic techniques. She has a number of international and national research papers.

Rabindra Kumar Das

Currently he is a Consultant of Flight Inspection for Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB). Before that he served as Assistant Director (ATS/Aero), Dy. Director (ATS/Aero), Aeronautical Maps & Charts Inspector, Chief Instructor (ATS) and several position in CAAB for about 35 years. He has completed his M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics, Dhaka University.

Md. Esraz-Ul-Zannat

Currently he is a faculty member (Assistant Professor) of the department of Urban and Regional Planning (URP), Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). Previously, he was employed as GIS and RS Specialist in Institute of Water Modelling (IWM). He has more than 15 years of professional experience in the field of Urban Planning, GIS & Remote Sensing, and climate change. He started his career as GIS analyst at Golden Harvest Scankort GIS Ltd. in 2007 and later on he joined in Autodesk Bangladesh: Win-Win Infosys Ltd. as instructor of AutoCAD Map 3D & Civil 3D in the same year. Afterward he switched to Data Experts (Pvt.) Limited (datEx) in 2008 and was involved as Assistant Urban Planner & GIS Specialist in two large projects viz. Detail Area Plan (DAP) followed by Dhaka Metropolitan Development Plan (DMDP) for Dhaka Metropolitan City & Pourashava Master Plan (a project of LGED).
